Affiliated Veterinary Specialists (AVS), Centers for Advanced Medical Care are highly reputable, specialty referral centers founded in 1997. The AVS – Orange Park surgery center was the first specialty hospital in the local region to provide board-certified surgical services to the North Florida and South Georgia communities.
Being one of the most advanced veterinary specialty surgery centers, AVS has since grown to four hospitals encompassing the Jacksonville, Florida area (AVS – Jacksonville and AVS – Orange Park), Gainesville, Florida (AVS – Gainesville) and Daytona, Florida (AVS – Daytona). AVS has also grown from a single board-certified veterinary surgeon to a group of board-certified veterinary specialists who work together to provide the best medical and surgical services and care for your pet available.
The veterinarians at AVS are bar-none the best board-certified specialists in North Florida and South Georgia, spending over a combined 50 years specializing in veterinary medicine.
AVS works alongside your family veterinarian, as communication and teamwork are paramount to your pet’s successful recovery. The board-certified specialists at AVS continually attend and present at local and regional continuing education meetings, further expanding their knowledge of veterinary medicine. AVS also works closely with other board-certified specialists in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Rehabilitation, Critical Care, Neurology, Dermatology and Dentistry to ensure the best comprehensive care and treatment of your pet and family member.
Since opening our doors nearly two decades ago, AVS has been dedicated to providing exceptional medical and surgical care for pets in collaboration with family veterinarians.
With ongoing advancements in veterinary medicine, our specialty team provides expertise, training and equipment required to manage the variety of cases experienced at our facilities.
When your beloved pet is experiencing a medical problem, you want to know everything that’s happening behind the scenes. AVS takes communication between our clients and referral partners very seriously, because we know how much you care. At AVS, we treat your pet as if it were our own and we understand the importance of working as a team to ensure the best care for your pet.
Like humans, pets often need the advanced care only a specialist can provide. Many medical conditions and problems require an expert with a more narrow focus. What makes a specialist so significant for your pet? A specialist has received many years of additional training in their specific discipline, including passing rigorous board-certifying examinations, to make them experts within their defined field. This additional training includes clinical internships, research fellowships and residency.
If you are concerned about your pet’s diagnosis or care, please speak with your veterinarian about the possibility of a referral to one of our board-certified specialists at AVS. Together, we work to deliver the best care your companion deserves.
