Leah got her start in veterinary medicine volunteering at the age of 12 and has never left. She joined the AVS family in 2008 with experience in general practice, emergency, critical care medicine and neurology. She has a special place in her heart for pit bulls, pictured here with the love of her life, Tucker.
Meagan, a certified veterinary technician, came to AVS in June of 2013, after moving to the Jacksonville area with her husband and 12-year-old kitty, Dexter. With more than 10 years of general practice and specialty experience, we are proud to have Meagan as an addition to the AVS family!
Originally from South Florida, Selena joined the AVS family in May of 2014. After spending several years in a general practice, she wished to expand her knowledge in the field, which motivated her to earn a degree as a Certified Veterinary Technician in August 2014. Selena enjoys spending her off time with her husband, sons and pets.
Angelina brings over 17 years of general practice, emergency and specialty care to our practice when she came to Orange Park in 2014. Her love of veterinary medicine has pushed her to continue her education and she is currently working on her prerequisites for veterinary school. She is the mother of two beautiful boys and five four-legged babies.
Angela has been in the veterinary field for over 15 years. Her experience includes surgery, emergency and shelter medicine. She has been on several Humane Society trips and enjoys volunteer work. She joined the AVS team in 2007.
Erin White is a Certified Veterinary Technician and a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Assistant. She began working in veterinary medicine in 2006 and was introduced to rehabilitation in 2009. Her passion for improving an animal’s quality of life, performance, and recovery with her own hands led her to continue her education.She attended courses at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute and Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, which provided her with in-depth, hands-on training and a fundamental understanding of rehabilitation and sports medicine. This helped to expand her knowledge of the benefits of TCVM provided to animals, such as acupuncture, food therapy and massage.
Jen joined the AVS family in 2014. She has been working in the veterinary field as a technician and receptionist for over four years. Jen likes to spend her time with her fiancée and their Siberian husky, Kai, which they adopted over a year ago.
Shane began his veterinary career working in emergency medicine in 2010. With additional experience in shelter medicine, Shane began as an overnight team member, and then moved to our surgical nursing team in 2015. He spends time traveling, and enjoying hikes and car rides with his dog, Karli.
Amber began her veterinary career in 2001 as a kennel technician and quickly became promoted to a veterinary technician in a general practice clinic. She joined the AVS family in 2014, providing overnight nursing care to our patients. Amber enjoys spending her down time with her daughter and 3 cats.
Karen joined the AVS family in 2015 bringing with her an extensive background in specialty surgery, internal medicine and emergency care.
Mary has been with AVS since August 2008. With extensive previous clerical experience, we are happy to have Mary as our lead receptionist.
